Notice other spaces in the line show as an orange dot, but the null character between the quotes has no orange dot, indicating it is not a space. When you view one that does work you get this. When you view one that doesn’t work in Notepad++ you get this.

Notepad++ displays a space as a small orange dot, where a null character appears without the orange dot. The difference between 2 liveries, one that works and one that doesn’t is not usually visible unless you are using a text editor like Notepad++ to view the aircraft.cfg file. This tricks MSFS into thinking it has a registration to display on the fuselage when it doesn’t. The secret is to use a null character not a space in the atc_id line. Actually it just slows it down so much it is looks like it has frozen. Using a space in the atc_id line will cause MSFS to fail to load a flight.
